160-pound junior, Jake Kallenborn, was the only finalist from Port Allegany to advance from PIAA regionals. He won twice to to earn his title match before dropping a 10-4 decision. Gators’ third-place rank among the 14 D-9 schools in the 40-team event.
Thursday, February 16th, the Hubbers lost to Port Allegany in a score of 51-18 in their final match. Reese Vollmer defeated Bryent Johnson by decision at 106 points. Issac Smoker and Joshua Rees both won their matches. Kallenborn won, 3-0 in a hard-earned match.
Wednesday, February 8th, Port Allegany faced Oswayo Valley. Montgomery Tanner, Josh Reese and Devon Smoker all got pins for the Gators. Eli Petruzzi decisioned Colton Gietler. Jake Kallenborn technical pin Nate Shroyer. The ending score was Port:44, OV:18
Thursday, February 2nd, Port Allegany faced Emporium in a wrestling match. The Gators flushed Cameron County with a score of 62-6. 36 points from forfeits and Jake Kallenborn picked up extra points for the Gators with a tech fall at 160.
Tuesday, January 31st, the Port Allegany Gators won all the head-to-head matches . The gators improved to a 6-11 overall. The Gators took all eight matches. Reese Vollmer, Montgomery Tanner, Eli Petruzzi, Issac Smoker, Devon Smoker, and Wayne Shelly registered pins.
Josh Reese and Robbie Arnett won decisions.
Reese Vollmer, Jacob Kallenborn, and Robbie Arnett, each went 5-0 at the Towanda Duals for Port Allegany. Payton Caden and Montgomery Tanner were 3-2 The Gators went 2-3 as a team, losing their first three duals. They Gators won against Central Columbia and North Penn-Liberty.
Port Allegany won their match at Allegany Mountain Wrestling League, against Johnsonburg on Thursday. The ending score was 47-21. Payton Caden, Montgomery Tanner, Wayne Shelly and Robbie Arnett won by pin for the Gators.
